Attention Bloggers, Forum makers, and all Background seekers!
God, I really, really, really hate to do this, but apparently I'm moderately popular enough to demand it.
If you want to use any of the images in the Xena Wing as a background or anywhere else on your webpage, you may, BUT:
Do not link to the image.  Save it on your own server.  You must give me credit, and refer back to this site.  DO NOT put your own copyright on it.
If these requests are not honored, you may abruptly find that your background has turned into a profanity-laden rant against people who steal others' work.

Sorry, folks, but I'm getting tired of having to check my recent visitors list all the time.  Bandwidth costs money, ok?

I love to make mandalas.  Simple little trick, really, using the kaleidoscope effect in Paint Shop Pro...  The trick is to find an appropriate base shot, a harmonious blend of color, and to "aim" the kaleidoscope at the right spot.  Of course, there's the odd other effect here and there, too.  If you'd like to use these as wallpapers, be sure you set it for "center", because some of them are odd sizes.  For an example of a Xena-related mandala wall, check out Sword Symphony.
Ishtar Eostere Blue Dunes 1 Blue Dunes 2
From a frost pattern on glass.  Used it in my wall, Winter Eve. The same frost pattern, different colors. Odd size, from a very nice sand dune cap from Pitch Black.  It looks kind of like a Mayan calendar, with little scary faces. Same Dunes cap, different look.  Used as the background in my Buffy and Spike wall, Pretty Couple.
Flowers Boisterous Purple-blue Purple
Working with identifiable images is hard.  They often turn into things that definitely look like, ahem, other things. Antoher one from a Pitch Black cap.  Extremely vivid. Okay, so I'm not so creative with the naming.  From a texture fill that is packaged with Paint Shop Pro. Same base image, "aimed" at a different spot.
Rainbow Perfect Pink Rose
I got a bug up my butt to make a rainbow gradient, and in the process of softening the blends, I hit it with some swirl effect.  Swirl is good for mandalas. Despite my startling lack of fondness for pink, I love this one.  Great watery effect. From a shot of a pink rose, natch.  The blurry bit there in the lower left was an attempt to make it look like a hemispherical glass paperweight.

The other stuff - some things I made from tutorials, and the last few I made for myself, just cuz.

Faux stained glass, using clip art, a WSWild landscape shot, and time...  I went all out for the "Window" effect. Same source for the background shot, I think, and used a modified Microsoft clip art for the "lead". This one's from a scan of an actual stained glass pattern, that I did to test out colors, before I do it again with polymer clay. From a tutorial, again, real fun, actually.  Dragon image scammed off alt.binaries.pictures.fantasy-sci-fi.
Same thing, same sources, different dragon. This was made from lots of different sources, including some pictures I took myself.  It's a protection spell for the computer.  You can't really see the words of the pentagram, but I think I got the elements in the right order.  [smile] This is a picture of a huge mausoleum in one of the New Orleans cemeteries.  This picture was taken (by me) in the middle of a bright sunny day.  I keep trying to make it into a Buffy wall, but it keeps insisting that it is NOT background material. This picture was taken at Muir Woods state park, in California, by me.  And then modified.
